NoseFrida - Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the Nosefrida better than other nasal aspirators on the market?
The Nosefrida has been designed by a Swedish paediatrician to meet the specific need for helping babies and toddlers breathe more easily when they have bad colds.  As nothing is actually put inside the baby's nose there is no possibility of irritation of the sensitive lining of the nose.  The Nosefrida has been shown to be more easily tolerated by babies and young children than other conventional aspirators.

Is the Nosefrida difficult to use?
No, it is very simple and easy to use, it is supplied with an instruction sheet that is a step by step guide, or you can click here to be redirected to the instruction page.

Will I pick up by baby's cold germs when using the NoseFrida?
No, the Nosefrida is designed with a special hygiene filter that prevents the mucous from your baby being passed to you.

My baby is very young, would the Nosefrida be safe to use on a newborn?
Yes, it has been designed for use with newborns up to toddlers, it will not hurt or irritate the baby in any way.

Can the Nosefriday be used if either the baby or user has allergies?
It is quite safe as it is made of non-allergenic and latex-free polypropolene.  The filters are made of moisture absorbing polyurethane.

There have recently been warnings about young children and the use of certain plastics  in baby bottles- does the Nosefrida contain any of these plastics?
No, the Nosefrida does not contain phtalates, and it is manufactured in accordance with the EU's environmental regulations and is registered with the FDA (US Food and Drug Administration)

Where is the Nosefreda manufactured?
It is manufactured by Nasalprodukter AB in Malmo, Sweden.

My child has very thick mucus and I can't get it out with the Nosefrida?
Ideally, try softening the mucous first by putting 1 - 2 saline (salty water) drops in each nostril and wait a minute or two.  Then apply the suction.  Try rotating the Nosefrida in a circular motion against the child's nostril.  You will hear a sound when the mucous starts to come out.

Do I need to buy extra filters?
The Nosefrida comes with 4 filters but as it is recommended that you change the filter with each use, it would be advisable to buy an extra bag (20 filters) when buying the Nosefrida.

How do I clean the Nosefrida?
The Nosefrida is cleaned by detaching the tubing and washing it with warm water and soap.  Then allow it to dry before putting it together again.  The tube needs to be pushed back hard until you hear it snap back into place, as there is a groove inside that makes the two sections fit together snugly.  It is strongly recommended that you change the filter each time you use/wash it for reasons of hygiene.
